*Development & Communications Coordinator (ONSITE)*Our client is a *Portland-based non-profit* organization who aims to deliver excellent, equitable education to underserved children, their families, and their communities. Their mission is to eliminate prolific racial achievement and opportunity gaps by developing confident, creative, compassionate leaders through their charter school and programs. They are looking to bring on a dedicated *Development & Communications Coordinator* to join their team in a critical role in building the capacity of their organization. You will be ensuring accurate and timely processing of gifts and acknowledgements, managing data entry, data updates and imports, and reporting of information. Additionally, you will be supporting and executing the donor communication and acknowledgements, creating online events and campaigns, all to expand philanthropic support!*Contract: *1+ month in duration, with possibility of extension.*Pay: *$25.00 - $28.75/hr. DOE.*Location: *Portland, Oregon (ONSITE)*Responsibilities for Development & Communications Coordinator:** Support the Development Director on all fundraising efforts for the organization.* Manage the grant submission process for government, foundation, and individual grants, research, and review RFPs, assist with grant cycle reporting needs, assist with pre-award documentation preparation, and administrative tasks.* Develop and maintain grants report tracking and ensure timely submission.* Manage and maintain DonorPerfect database including responsibility for data entry, integrations with online giving platforms, data clean-up and records updates, and reporting.* Coordinate monthly gifts and in-kind reconciliation with Bookkeeper and create monthly reports.* Coordinate and troubleshoot donor records for improved donor segmentation.* Request and send invoices, create, and manage contracts and track and follow up for timely execution.* Track and follow up with unpaid sponsorships, pledges, event ticket sales, etc.* Serve as primary administrative support for annual Spread the Love gala, maintaining spreadsheets, sponsor and guest management, registration, website links, QR codes, payment management, post event data management, and serve as guest registration staff liaison.* Create special reports, studies, summaries, and analyses as required.* Manage the timely preparation of donor and supporter related correspondence, thank you letters, and phone or email follow-up with donors as needed.* For all events, coordinate both in advance and for the day of the event with vendors, guests and relevant staff impacted by event needs.* Depending on the event, create collateral materials (e.g., nametags, bid cards, guest lists, and seating assignments). This may include tracking RSVPs, requesting bids, managing the registration of attendees, and serving as a host.* Provide support to the Development Director when needed, by scheduling regular meetings, securing meeting rooms, preparing agendas, taking minutes, and making copies for attendees.* Manage communications with committees such as the Investment Committee and Event Committees.* Serve as the Department Purchasing Coordinator* Create compelling storytelling pieces with accompanying videos, photos, and graphics.* Serve as liaison between the IT and Development/Communications teams to ensure that collateral marketing and storytelling assets are produced in a timely manner.* Create written and visual content for a variety of formats, including newsletters, reports, brochures, websites, emails, social media, advertising, and press releases. Ensure that all content for publication is regularly updated.* Lay out and deliver newsletters via MailChimp to key constituents, as well as event-specific email campaigns.*Qualifications for Development & Communications Coordinator:** Bachelors degree is highly preferred, but not required.* 3+ years of professional experience is required. 2+ years of that specifically in *fundraising/development *(Paid or unpaid).* Experience managing data entry and report generation with a CRM or donor database system is required.* Agility to work across multiple, simultaneous projects and meet deadlines with attention to detail and deadlines.* Highly proficient in MS Office Suite is required.
