Position Summary: Are you ready to lead an exciting summer
adventure for kids? West Hills Racquet Club in Beaverton, OR is
looking for a Seasonal Kid Camp Manager to oversee the operations
of our Kid Camp. You'll ensure safe and engaging experiences for
all participants while providing excellent customer
service.Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Assist in hiring, training, scheduling, and supervising Kid
Camp Counselors.
- Develop camp schedules, curriculum, activities, and staff
training programs.
- Create supply and equipment purchase lists for approval by the
General Manager.
- Verify registration and payment of camp participants.
- Oversee day-to-day camp operations, ensuring children are
properly supervised and engaged.
- Communicate with parents about specific needs, observations, or
concerns in a tactful manner.
- Document any incidents or concerns for the Assistant General
Manager and General Manager.
- Create a fun, engaging, and educational environment for all
children in the program.
- Maintain facilities to health and safety standards, reporting
any hazardous conditions.Supervisory Responsibilities:
- Directly supervise 5-10 employees in the Kid Camp
Department.
- Interview, hire, and train employees; plan, assign, and direct
work; appraise performance; reward and discipline employees;
address complaints and resolve problems.Competencies:
- Managing People: Available to staff; provides regular
performance feedback; develops subordinates' skills and encourages
growth.
- Organizational Support: Follows policies and procedures;
completes administrative tasks correctly and on time.
- Judgment: Exhibits sound and accurate judgment; includes
appropriate people in decision-making processes.
- Planning/Organizing: Prioritizes and plans work activities;
uses time efficiently.
- Safety and Security: Observes safety and security procedures;
reports potentially unsafe conditions.Qualifications:
- Education and/or Experience: High school diploma or GED; one
year related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination
of education and experience.
- Language Skills: Ability to read and interpret documents; write
routine reports and correspondence; speak effectively before
groups.
- Mathematical Skills: Ability to perform basic arithmetic and
interpret bar graphs.
- Reasoning Ability: Ability to apply common sense understanding
to carry out instructions; deal with problems involving concrete
variables.
- Computer Skills: Knowledge of spreadsheet and word processing
software.
- Certificates, Licenses, Registrations: Current CPR
certification.Physical Demands:
- Regularly required to stand, walk, talk, and hear.
- Frequently required to use hands, reach with arms, stoop,
kneel, crouch, or crawl.
- Occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds.
- Specific vision abilities required include close, distance, and
peripheral vision.Work Environment:
- Regularly exposed to wet and/or humid conditions and outside
weather.
- Occasionally exposed to toxic or caustic chemicals.
- Noise level is usually moderate.
