Job Title: Electrophysiology Technologist Profession: Technologist Specialty: Cath/IR/Angio Lab Duration: 13 weeks Shift: 10 hour variable shifts Hours per Shift: 40 hours per week Experience: Minimum of 2 years in cardiovascular or Interventional Radiology lab License: ARRT, Oregon Board of Medical Imaging Certifications: BLS, ACLS Must-Have: Cardiovascular and Electrophysiology experience preferred Description: Performs diagnostic and interventional Electrophysiology procedures in accordance with department policies, procedures, and protocols. Performs Electrophysiology Implant procedures following established protocols. Maintains sterile technique while acting as monitor tech, scrub tech, or circulator. Demonstrates thorough knowledge of cardiac anatomy, physiology, hemodynamic principles, and X-ray techniques. Provides emergent and routine cardiac care as needed. Documents patient care in health records according to department standards. Adheres to Health and Safety Policies and Procedures to ensure quality patient care. Assists in record maintenance and statistical reporting. Utilizes EPIC EMR, Claris system, Baylis, Viewmate USD, GE Innova Bi-Plane, and Merge PACS. Works with various vendors for devices including St. Jude, Boston Scientific, Medtronic, and Biotronic. Must work in collaboration with a team of two RNs, two Technologists, and Anesthesia. Requires no mandatory on-call responsibilities. Floats to other units only in urgent or emergent situations. Operates in a Cath Lab with five rooms designed for EP, cardiac, IR, and vascular procedures. Maintains a nurse to patient ratio of four persons per crew, consisting of two RTs and two RNs. Hospital scrubs will be provided. Undergoes basic training followed by departmental orientation involving practical experience with physicians and technologists. Takes on responsibilities aligned with competency and comfort level.
