Job Title: Radiologic Technologist Profession: Diagnostic
Imaging Specialty: Radiologic Technologist Duration: 13 weeks
Shift: Wednesday, Thursday, Friday, Saturday, Sunday Hours per
Shift: 7.5 hours on weekdays; 7 hours on weekends Experience: One
or more years in a Radiology Department with comparable complexity
preferred License: Valid license issued by the State Board of
Medical Imaging required Certifications: Certified by the American
Registry of Radiologic Technologists required Must-Have: Current
Basic Life Support (BLS) certification or ability to complete BLS
certification within 90 days of hire required Description: The
Radiologic Technologist provides prescribed radiographic and
fluoroscopic exams. The technologist selects proper technical
factors required for each exam. The position involves participating
in a culture consistent with service and behavioral standards. The
technologist will position patients correctly for radiographic and
fluoroscopic exams. Assistance to radiologists during fluoroscopic
exams and special procedures is required. Accurate and complete
exam and image documentation related to CR and PACS is essential.
The role includes providing radiation protection to patients and
personnel according to prescribed standards. Equipment failure or
maintenance problems must be checked and reported to the Imaging
Department Manager. Preparation of contrast media used in various
examinations and assisting radiologists in administering media is
necessary. Duties related to film/PACS media library may be
performed as needed. Assistance with scheduling and processing of
patients may be required and appropriate. A graduate of an approved
school of radiologic technology is required. Thorough knowledge of
human anatomy, radiation exposures, and positioning is necessary.
The ability to work compatibly with physicians, patients, and other
staff is essential. The work environment is usually moderately
quiet. Employees may be exposed to patient and environmental
conditions, with some unpleasant sights, smells, and contagious
