About the Clinician's Workday The clinician functions as a member of the clinical patient care team performing tasks and procedures consistent with the training and licensure of a medical oncologist/hematologist. The position involves treating patients in an outpatient free-standing cancer center setting with a focus on solid tumor diagnoses seen within one week of referral. The practice demographics consist of approximately 20% hematology and 80% oncology cases, with most benign hematology cases referred elsewhere. Call responsibilities include 7 days of call with one weekend in a 1:4 rotation, and hospital rounding occurs only when patients require admission for inpatient chemotherapy.
