The Software Solutions Architect at PAE plays a crucial role in
designing, leading, and developing software solutions, combining
strategic thinking with hands-on technical expertise. You'll be
responsible for shaping the overall architecture of PAE's software
and data integration solutions, leading the development lifecycle,
overseeing development resources, and hands-on coding. This is a
great role for big-picture thinkers who are just as comfortable
brainstorming and planning as they are coding.
Collaboration, Ideation, and Solution Architecture
- Work closely with stakeholders to analyze business needs and
translate them into technical solutions
- Develop high-level architectural designs that align with
business goals and technical requirements; envision the entire
system, considering scalability, security, performance, and
maintainability
- Create detailed plans to support those strategic
objectives
- Evaluate, recommend, and implement appropriate technologies,
frameworks, and tools for PAE's software technology stack Delivery
Management
- Plan and guide the development process, ensuring that the end
product aligns with the original vision and meets high-quality
standards
- Utilize modern project management methodologies (Agile Scrum,
Waterfall, etc.) to lead development resources, both internal and
external, ensuring successful project execution, resource
allocation, and deliverables
- Establish and maintain software development backlog utilizing
the Agile framework and related industry tools like Azure DevOps
and/or Jira
- Foster collaborative relationships and manage expectations with
external development partners, including offshore teams or
third-party vendors Code Review and Quality Assurance
- Provide technical direction on best practices for development;
propose enhancements to existing solutions and explore new
opportunities
- Devise software testing strategies to ensure robustness and
reliability
- Dive into the codebase as needed, reviewing code and providing
technical guidance aligned with best practices Documentation and
Support
- Write and revise code for data integration and automation
solutions
- Create prototypes or proof-of-concepts for new product ideas,
validating architectural decisions
- Troubleshoot and resolve complex issues as needed
- Document processes and provide technical support and training
to end-users
- Enable data flow between systems by developing custom
connectors, implementing APIs, web services, and other integration
methods
- Optimize integration flows to ensure high performance and
reliability What You Bring
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Development, or
equivalent experience
- Minimum 8 years of combined experience in software development,
architecture, and project leadership
- Minimum three years of experience with cloud-based integration
solutions and services
- Relevant Industry Certifications preferred
- Familiarity with the software development lifecycle, project
management and quality assurance best practices
- Ability to identify software bugs and collaborate on
solutions
- Extensive coding and programming expertise in languages such as
HTML5, C#, Java, Python, and JavaScript
- Strong understanding of integration patterns, API management,
and web services (REST, SOAP), and similar technologies
- Experience with integration platforms (e.g., Azure, MuleSoft,
Dell Boomi, Apache Camel, IBM Integration Bus)
- Familiarity with SQL database technologies (e.g., Postgres,
MySQL, Microsoft) and query languages
- Experience with Microsoft 365 services (SharePoint, Teams,
Power Platform) and integration development using Microsoft
technologies (Azure, Logic Apps, Power Automate, etc.)
- Knowledge of DevOps practices and CI/CD pipelines
- Familiarity with emerging AI platforms and services
- Strong problem-solving skills with an emphasis on solution
development
- Software project management experience with proven ability to
lead cross-functional teams and manage external resources
- Excellent communication and documentation skills, experience in
translating complex technical subjects to all stakeholders
- Ability to maintain a professional, positive, and friendly
manner
- Strong time and task management capabilities, able to adapt,
shift focus, and prioritize workflow with minimal supervision What

- Hiring Base Salary Range: $92,000 - $127,000annual
- This position is eligible for straight time overtime pay The
base salary is one component of PAE's competitive compensation
package for employees. We take into consideration a variety of
factors including but not limited to skills, abilities, experience,
education, credentials, internal equity and geographic location in
determining exact salary offered. At PAE, roles are eligible for
additional rewards, including salary increases and annual bonuses
based on individual performance. The above range represents PAE's
good faith and reasonable estimate of the range of possible
compensation at the time of posting.
