Employment Type: Contract-to-Hire Job Description: LHH Recruitment Solutions is partnering with a mid-sized law firm to identify a Legal Assistant to join its Lake Oswego office, supporting the firm's land use practice. The ideal candidate will have at least two years of experience in a law firm environment and will be comfortable redlining, reviewing, and proofreading legal documents, managing calendars, and assisting with billing. This role is well suited for someone who is proactive, detail-oriented, and resourceful. Responsibilities: Manage multiple matters and projects simultaneously while meeting deadlines Proofread, format, revise, and perform word processing for a variety of land use and legal documents Compile and organize binders and materials for large projects Process legal documents for distribution and electronic storage Run conflicts checks and assist with opening new clients and matters Provide administrative support, including filing, typing, and special projects, as needed Qualifications: 2-3 years of law firm experience preferred Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines Detail-oriented, motivated, and highly reliable Excellent verbal and written communication skills Experienced in drafting, reviewing, and revising legal correspondence, documents, and pleadings Proficient in legal research, including citation checking Typing speed of at least 50 wpm, including 10-key Technologically proficient in Microsoft Word, Outlook, and Excel; ProLaw experience preferred Benefits: Benefit offerings include medical, dental, vision, life insurance, short-term disability, additional voluntary benefits, EAP program, commuter benefits, and 401K plan.
