Job Description:
Sysco is seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented
Transportation Supervisor to join our dedicated team. As a leader
in the global foodservice industry, we deliver top-notch products
to a diverse client base, spanning restaurants, healthcare
facilities, educational institutions, and hospitality
organizations. In this role, you will oversee daily operations
within our transportation department, ensuring efficient and safe
delivery of food products. The ideal candidate will possess a
strong sense of leadership, operational acumen, and a commitment to
service excellence. Manage and oversee the daily operations of the
transportation department. Schedule and monitor staff and vehicle
allocations to ensure timely delivery of goods. Ensure compliance
with company policies and regulatory transportation standards.
Optimize route planning and manage logistical challenges to reduce
costs and improve efficiency. Maintain detailed records of vehicle
maintenance, delivery logs, and driver compliance. Conduct regular
safety audits and enforce strict adherence to safety protocols.
Liaise with customer service and warehouse departments to
coordinate and resolve issues on the go. Train and develop the
transportation team to maintain high service standards and legal
compliance. Strong leadership and personnel management skills.
Expertise in logistics and route planning software. Ability to work
under pressure and handle crisis situations effectively. Excellent
communication and interpersonal skills. Proficiency in MS Office
and transportation management systems. Knowledge of DOT regulations
and safety standards. Medical Insurance Dental Insurance Vision
Insurance Life Insurance 401k Commercial Driver’s License (CDL) is
preferred. Certification in Logistics, Transportation, or Supply
Chain Management desirable.
